Ellen Davis writes that the book of Job provides more than just a theology of suffering, but the theology of a sufferer. Suffering is something with which we all have become acquainted in new ways over the past year and a half. Not only have we all been touched in some way by the wide-scale suffering of this ongoing pandemic, but we have become keenly aware of the sufferings of others. Over these four weeks we will engage the Bible’s great exploration of suffering, and reflect on the light that can only be revealed in darkness.
