First Baptist Church of Christ in Macon, Georgia, is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor to join our ministry team.

This is a unique opportunity to take the lead in a well-established youth ministry and serve as a vital pastoral presence within an intergenerational congregation that values collaboration, creativity, and authentic discipleship.

About the Role

The Associate Pastor will:

• Hold primary responsibility for leading our youth ministry, cultivating meaningful relationships with youth and families.
• Support the Pastor in worship leadership, pastoral care, and collaborative ministry planning.
• Share in the leadership of various ministries and missions, based on the candidate’s unique gifts and interests.

Other areas of responsibility could potentially include:

• Faith formation across varied ages
• Congregational life and intergenerational programming
• Mission coordination and community engagement
• Other initiatives that align with your calling and strengths

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a candidate who embodies both pastoral presence and adaptive leadership, with qualities and skills such as:

• Education, training, or experience in theological studies, pastoral care, and/or adolescent development
• Flexibility, openness, and a willingness to learn
• Ability to lead programming and support youth and families with neurodivergence and other varied needs and backgrounds
• Eagerness to minister to and cultivate trusting relationships within our intergenerational congregation and community
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to foster authentic exploration of faith and value dialogue with those who hold diverse persepectives
