This year our congregation has been doing BIG things – navigating staff transitions, holding congregational conversations around our future, conducting a pastor search, facilities master planning, and more. This summer, we are going to celebrate the SMALL!
Gathering all together in our church-wide spaces in worship and fellowship is central to our life as a community. But real connection most often happens in smaller groups. This summer, we will offer a wide variety of small group opportunities for fellowship, education, spiritual formation, recreation, and more. In May and into the summer, we will publish a list of opportunities so that you can choose one or more to engage in and get to know others in our community better.
If you have an idea about a small group gathering for which you’d be willing to serve as the point person, please reach out to Julie Long or Dee Bratcher, chair of the Church Life Committee. You tell us what you’d like to do and when and where you want to do it, and we’ll get the word out. These opportunities can be one-time events or a series of gatherings. Ideas can include but are not limited to: walking group, pickleball, Bible study, book club, missions service, hangout on the back porch or around the fire pit, handbell choir, spiritual direction group, baking, quilting, birding, go to the movies, dinner out, etc. Get creative – whatever you’d like to do with a group, chances are, someone else would like to do that with you.
