Investing in the Next Chapter
What an amazing time to be a part of First Baptist Church of Christ at Macon! Our almost 200-year-old church is both steeped in history and in touch with today’s issues. Here we are offered majestic worship, nurturing relationships, and opportunities to reach out to a world in need. Some of us have been a part of the congregation for generations and others have recently joined.
All of us have an opportunity to invest in the next chapter of FBCX. Investment happens in many ways – being present for worship, learning opportunities, and each other; praying regularly for our church; serving in ministries that meet needs of our neighbors; and giving financially to support FBCX. Our Stewardship Committee has taken a close look at financial giving and discovered several positive points.
- People of all ages donate significantly to FBCX – children, youth, and adults in their 30s to over 80 years old.
- 74 giving units pledged to support FBCX financially in 2024. Through August, their giving is 98% on target of the dollars pledged.
- 68 additional giving units that did not pledge for 2024 have given to support the church this year.
- August year-to-date giving to the general operating budget in 2024 is higher than the same period in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
With a gifted and committed new senior pastor, the stage is set for a bright future for our beloved church. Please join me in enthusiastically supporting FBCX.
- Compare your 2024 giving to your intention for this year. There is time to catch up or stretch to a higher level of support.
- Commit to tithing. If you are not currently giving 10%, grow your giving toward a tithe.
- Give as an act of discipleship and worship.
- Remember there are several ways to give – in person during worship, mailing checks to the church (511 High Place, Macon, GA 31201), or electronically at https://fbcxmacon.org/give.
- Pledge your support for FBCX in 2025 on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
I am thankful for First Baptist Church of Christ and the opportunity to worship, learn, and serve beside you. May God bless our congregation as we seek to nurture, love, and serve all.
